Web Friends. Tech has made it easier than ever before to communicate and form friendships

Making new friends with individuals on the internet is more prevalent than ever before. In 2015, the Pew Research Center stated that 57 per cent of teenagers made friends online. Chances of finding some body – anybody – on the planet using the interests that are same to be more than ever as a result of the never-ending selection of popular social networking platforms like Twitter, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Tumblr among others.

“Social news assists teenagers feel more linked to their buddies’ feelings and lives that are daily and now offers teenagers a destination to get help from other people during challenging times, ” the Pew Research Center states when you look at the 2015 research.

Nikole Tower, an Arizona State University sophomore majoring in journalism and mass communication met her friend Kaitz Haynes four years back on Twitter due to a typical interest. Haynes lives in Durban, Southern Africa. Inspite of the distance between them – 10,275 kilometers – Tower and Haynes became friends that are good. They bonded over Twitter through a Five Second of Summer fan account with two other girls – one from Kansas plus one from Italy. Continue reading “Web Friends.
